Love Lamb Week 2025 to Celebrate the Flavour, Versatility and Values of NIFQA Lamb
From the 1st to the 7th of September 2025, the naturally delicious flavour and versatility of Northern Ireland Farm Quality Assured (NIFQA) lamb will take centre stage as the industry marks the 10th anniversary of Love Lamb Week.
Locally, the Livestock and Meat Commission (LMC) will join with industry representatives in Northern Ireland and across the United Kingdom to celebrate this weeklong initiative, which highlights the many benefits of lamb and the positive impact of UK sheep production.
LMC Chief Executive, Colin Smith, commented:
“We are delighted to once again promote our sustainably produced, nutritious, world-class NIFQA lamb as part of the UK-wide Love Lamb Week campaign.
Love Lamb Week shines a light on the positive attributes of UK sheep farming while also showcasing the versatility and nutritional credentials of lamb. We have a hugely positive story to tell, from farm right through to fork, and we look forward to sharing these messages across print, radio and digital platforms throughout the week.”
As part of the campaign, LMC will work in collaboration with red meat levy boards across the UK to deliver the ‘Make It Lamb’ initiative, which encourages consumers to enjoy lamb in a variety of ways. A stakeholder communications pack has also been developed to support engagement and will be made available for those who would like to get involved.
Lauren Patterson, LMC Head of Marketing and Communications, said:
“We’ve planned province-wide radio activity, including tailored lamb sound bites that will air throughout the week. In addition, a robust social media campaign will run across our Livestock and Meat Commission and Beef and Lamb NI channels, focusing on local sheep farmers and the care and dedication behind every cut of NIFQA lamb.”
Adding an educational element to the campaign, LMC is also proud to launch its brand-new ‘Farm in a Box’ initiative, designed for Key Stage One pupils. Developed to support classroom learning through sensory play, literacy development and other early learning skills, the boxes are being launched during Love Lamb Week with support from Ulster Wool, who have kindly partnered to supply wool resources.
“All in all, it promises to be an action-packed week,” Patterson added, “and we hope our range of activities will give consumers a wholesome view of how NIFQA lamb is produced and inspire them to make it a go-to choice for meals.”
